Death is the risk for the unprepared. Natural black gravel covers the sand making it almost impossible to follow the road. Driving through this area, the change in scenery from flat gravel to undulating barren sand is so gradual it almost goes unnoticed. Skeleton Coast National Park, North Western Namibia 1997.
